Fremantle Chamber Orchestra performs Mozart, Kraus & Atterberg
Dubbed “The Swedish Mozart”, Joseph Martin Kraus’s dramatic Symphony in C Minor opens this grand performance, Born in the same year as Mozart and dying just a year after him, Kraus dedicated one of his symphonies to Haydn who commented, “it will be regarded as a masterpiece for centuries to come". Mozart’s magic Oboe Concerto features talented young Hannah Woolley who had her soloist debut with FCO just over a year ago. Swedish Kurt Atterberg’s achingly beautiful Adagio Amoroso starts the second half, finishing with Mozart’s stirring Symphony 25, immortalised in Amadeus. Conducted by John Keene, this Fremantle Chamber Orchestra jewel is not to be missed.
