About the event
Fremantle Chamber Orchestra and John Keene perform a special afternoon of madness, energy and peace.
La Follia (madness) is a very recognisable old tune of unknown origin, worked over by numerous composers, instantly thrilling. Vivaldi’s daring dissonances in his RV169 contrast beautifully with Mozart’s exquisite Adagio from his K334. The WORLD PREMIERE of John Keene’s own composition Reflections is followed by Bottesini’s Grande allegro di concerto, "alla Mendelssohn" to culminate in Swiss romantic Joachim Raff’s slow movement of his String Quartet No1: Mässig langsam, getragen.
