Fremantle Chamber Orchestra is thrilled to introduce award winning Double Bassist and conductor John Keene as soloist in Bottesini’s thrilling Concerto No 2. It is also Mr Keene's debut conducting FCO.  The role of conductor and violinist is often combined but that of double bass and conductor is a novelty.  The performance opens with the Symphony in D major by the neglected Beethoven contemporary Ignaz Pleyel, followed by the virtuoso Bottesini.  Intermezzo by Kurt Magnus Atterberg, a Swedish composer, creates a rich tapestry which complements Haydn’s Symphony no 60, full of classic joy and surprises.
